Our Favourite Celeb Looks from Cannes 2019

At 11 days long, Cannes is a show-stopping event that sees the stars of stage and screen descend on Southern France, to give us all a taste of what’s in store for the future of fashion. Last week the 72nd annual Cannes film festival drew to a close and, as ever, there were too many stand out looks on the red carpet for us not to take notice. Each spring the celebrity outfits polarise critics across the globe and this year was no exception. From pink pixie haircuts to full sequin bodysuits, there was something to give even the most forward thinking fashionista a healthy dose of style envy. As a celebration of the incredible range of garments on display, we’ve put together a round-up of our favourites from Cannes 2019, to inspire you to get glam this summer.

Carla Bruni Stuns in Navy Satin Dress by Celine

As a singer-songwriter and supermodel, Carla Bruni is quite the powerhouse with an enviable fashion sense to boot. We love the asymmetry of this single shoulder, classic satin, Celine dress. The deep navy colour is ultra flattering against Carla’s skin tone and looks effortlessly chic paired with diamonds.

Elsa Hosk Rocks Tulle by Etro

This pastel tulle prom dress sent the media into a frenzy at Cannes 2019. On paper, a multi-coloured tulle gown sounds as though it would be more suited to a youngster’s birthday party than the red carpet at Cannes, but in reality Estro’s captivating creation is something we can totally get on board with. Like it or loathe it, this versatile French fabric is making a comeback, and Elsa Rosk’s dreamy dress is a great example of how to wear tulle in a more understated sense. Elsa wasn’t alone; Dua Lipa and Kendall Jenner also opted for statement netted numbers too.

Dame Helen Mirren – La Vie en Rose

Since ‘rose quartz’ was released as Pantone’s colour of the year a few years ago, the rose gold trend has spread like wildfire and as of yet, shows no signs of slowing down. From home decor to tech
gadgets, just about anything is available to purchase in a rosy hue, and it’s a trend we just can’t get enough of. Dame Helen Mirren has nailed wearing a whimsical shade of rose gold with this modern and romantic look. The embellished rose gold dress by Elie Saab perfectly defines her slim frame, and paired with a subtle pink rinse helped her to stand out for all the right reasons. What’s not to love?
