Grace’s wedding dress is one of the most elegant and remembered bridal gowns of all time. Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta (one of my personal favorites) perfectly describes her: “On her wedding day, Grace Kelly gave new meaning to the word icon. Her whole look, from the regal veil to the feminine lace details and the conservative gown, made her an ageless bride.” And finally, another interesting fact I had no idea of was the wedding gift from MGM to Grace which was her entire wardrobe from the film High Society as well as her own wedding dress, all of which were designed by Helen Rose. #gracekelly #gracekellystyle #oscardelarenta #helenrose #highsociety #gracekellywedding #gracekellyweddingdress #princessgrace #princessgraceofmonaco #princessofmonaco #princerainieriii #princeofmonaco #princerainieriiiofmonaco #monaco #montecarlo #principalityofmonaco #grimaldi #houseofgrimaldi #oldhollywood #oldhollywoodglamour

Lady Diana Spencer & Charles, Prince of Wales
Cost Today: £637,514
Princess number 2 on our list, is Lady Diana Spencer (Princess Diana) who wore an unforgettable (albeit enormous) dress on her wedding day. The gown featured over 10,000 pearls and a 25-foot train and was estimated to cost £151,000 in 1981 – which today in 2020 would be a huge £321,769!

Victoria Adams (Beckham) & David Beckham

Posh spice wouldn’t be posh spice without a pricey wedding dress, and in 1999 she didn’t disappoint. Victoria Beckham opted for a cream silk ball gown with 25 foot train and sculpted neckline for her big day, topping it off with a casual gold plated tiara. This 90’s number would set you back £321,769 today.

Madonna & Guy Ritchie
Cost Today: £321,769

More is more (if you’re Madonna that is.) Madge wore a Gothic-style strapless dress with diamond tiara, previously worn by Grace Kelly of Monaco, when marrying Guy Ritchie in 2000. In 2020 this extra outfit would cost a huge £104,022.

Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman
Cost Today: £34,490

Xtina has reincarnated herself stylistically more times than we can count, so we didn’t quite know what to expect from her in 2005. On the big day, she opted for an alternative figure hugging, Spanish style dress with ruffles that would cost around £34,490 today. Bonita.

Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Cost Today: £23,487

Nicole Kidman’s dress from 2006 wedding to Keith Urban is so iconic, it’s even been displayed in a museum. The ivory silk chiffon gown was designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga and would cost a cool £23,487 in 2020.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden
Cost Today: £20,074

Nicole Richie wore not one but three dresses on her wedding day in 2010. She’s a lover of detail and her ceremony dress even had ‘Nicole and Joel’ embroidered into the sleeve, like a romantic temporary tattoo. In 2020 her Marchesa lace dress would cost the equivalent of £20,074!

Kimmy K isn’t usually known for her demure outfit choices, but on her wedding day she really was the optime of elegance. She and Kanye celebrated their nuptials in 2014 with a fairytale celebration in Florence. Her pearl encrusted, figure hugging gown would set you back almost a mil in 2020.

Mariah Carey & James Packer

The only dress on this round-up not to make it down the aisle, but iconic nonetheless, Mariah Carey’s Cinderella – esque Valentino gown is famous in its own right. It became one of the most talked about gowns in recent years after she set it on fire in her music video for ‘I don’t’ following her break up with fiance James Packer. In 2020 it would cost a whopping £207,453. If only it had survived the flames…
