Stranger Things-inspired outfits

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the new series of Netflix’s Stranger Things has been sweeping the globe. The residents of Hawkins, Indiana have been all over our social media feeds for the last month or so. With the release of Season 4 Part 2 this month, Stranger Things-fever shows no sign of letting up any time soon.

Here at Little Mistress we’ve been as obsessed as anyone with the series, and while we just stopped short of taking the 1st July off work to binge the last few episodes, we’ve been consuming every piece of Stranger Things content we could find.

So, we couldn’t help but wonder how the residents of Hawkins would dress if they were Little Mistress customers. We trawled our collection to pick out some of the items best suited to our Netflix heroes, so hopefully you can get a little inspiration for Stranger Things costume ideas for the rest of the year…
(Needless to say, spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Stranger Things Season 4 Part 1).

Nancy Wheeler-inspired denim jacket

Nancy Wheeler is an inspiration to us all for lots of things – her brain, her beauty, her badassery. But her style is also something we’ve been crushing on this season, with her denim jacket a key piece.

Right from the start of Season 4 (when she’s on the hunt for her ill-fated partner Fred), Nancy pairs her floaty, feminine dress with a boxy denim jacket that’s effortlessly timeless.
For a versatile jacket that can easily go from summer to autumn and beyond, we love this Cropped Dark Blue Denim Jacket. For a Stranger Things Nancy-inspired outfit, pair with a colourful midi dress and some classic white trainers. The perfect outfit for every occasion – investigating the supernatural, or just grabbing brunch with the girls…

Stranger Things = patterned dresses

Whether it’s the eclectic ensemble Eleven wore to that infamous day at the skating rink, or the unforgettable outfits she and Max got at the mall in Season 3, Stranger Things fashion is all about patterns. Even Robin’s iconic Scoops Ahoy uniform has a bit of stripe action going on.

For something 80s-inspired but still uber fashionable, a striped dress combined with statement jewellery or a chunky knit makes for the perfect outfit. Try this Mono Stripe Midi Dress for something a little understated that you can dress up or down this summer.

Pretty in Pink like Erica Sinclair

She’s tough, she’s fierce and she always gets the last word. In a nutshell, Erica Sinclair is an icon. Her outfits are rarely super-girly, but she’s often got a subtle touch of pink in her looks. From the folder she carries into her first meeting with Eddie Munson at the Hellfire Club, to her candy-striped dungarees and pink backpack in Season 3’s air vent escape, our girl loves a touch of pink.

To honour a legend and add a bit of a summery touch to your next outfit, embrace the power of pink. Here are some of our favourite pink outfits for this summer:

Make a splash like Mrs Wheeler

Thinking back to Season 3, Mrs Wheeler’s swimsuit from her short-lived flirtation with Billy (RIP) is surely one of the series’s most iconic looks.
Make like Mrs Wheeler poolside this summer and go for a bold and colourful swimwear combination. To get the look, you’ll want to pair your bikini or swimsuit with a chunky necklace and the boldest of bold lips.

Eleven’s dungarees

If you’re looking for an Eleven Stranger Things Halloween costume this year, your first stop will probably be a drop of fake blood under the nose. Dungarees are a good option, as Jane Hopper has been known to don denim overalls and colourful dungarees throughout the series.

For a bit of a grown-up and stylish take, we love this Denim Dungaree Jumpsuit, which is the perfect neutral base for some 80s-inspired hair and makeup.
