Size & Fit Guide

A few measurements make all the difference. Start with your body measurements, then check the shape, fabric and fit notes of the style you love.

01 / Find your starting point

Your size, made simple

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Individual styles can fit differently because of their cut, fabric and lining. Use any style-specific fit advice alongside this chart.

02 / Three easy measurements

How to measure

Use a soft tape measure over underwear or light, close-fitting clothing. Stand naturally and keep the tape level and comfortably close, without pulling it tight. Take each measurement twice.

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust and across your back. Wear the bra you expect to wear with the outfit, where practical.

Waist

Measure around your natural waist: the crease that forms when you gently bend to one side. Keep the tape comfortable and breathe normally.

Hips

With your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom. Check in a mirror that the tape sits level all the way around.

No tape measure? Use a piece of non-stretch string, mark where it meets, then measure it flat with a ruler.

03 / Choose for the garment

Between sizes? Start with the fit

Your bust, waist and hips do not need to fall in the same size column. Focus on where the garment is fitted and allow room to move.

Dresses & jumpsuits

Check all three measurements. A fitted bodice needs room at the bust and waist; a close-fitting skirt or jumpsuit also needs room at the hips. With jumpsuits, check the torso and inside-leg fit too.

Tops & jackets

Start with your bust measurement and check the shoulders, sleeves and waist where the style is shaped. Allow space for the layers you plan to wear underneath.

Trousers & skirts

Compare both waist and hip measurements. Check where the waistband is designed to sit. A comfortable waist should not come at the expense of pulling across the hips.

Fabric makes a difference

  • Structured or non-stretch styles: avoid choosing a smaller size where a fitted area would feel tight. If you fall between sizes, the larger may be more comfortable; check the individual fit notes.
  • Stretch and knit: consider the intended silhouette. Stretch should allow movement, rather than require you to size down.
  • Satin and bias cuts: look for a smooth drape. Pulling, twisting or horizontal tension lines can indicate that more room is needed.
  • Lace, sequins and lined styles: the lining can affect fit even when the outer fabric has give. Do not assume stretch from the photograph alone.

04 / The details that matter

Check the length and the whole outfit

Mini, midi, midaxi and maxi describe a style’s intended length; where the hem falls will depend on your height and proportions. Check any listed garment length and model height, and compare with a similar piece that fits you well. Match the measuring method where one is given.

For a maxi dress or wide-leg trousers, try the intended shoes. The hem should let you walk comfortably without catching underfoot. Check your bra or base layer with the neckline, back and fabric before the occasion.

Your try-on checklist

  • Fasten the garment fully, then sit down, raise your arms and take a few steps.
  • Check that buttons, seams and zips lie comfortably without pulling.
  • Look at the front, side and back in good light.
  • Keep tags attached and try on indoors while deciding, following our returns guidance.

Your fit questions

Should I automatically go up or down a size?

No. Use your measurements and the product’s fit notes together. A relaxed fit is a design choice; sizing down can change how the shoulders, sleeves or length sit. If one fitted area needs a larger size, check that first.

Does “regular fit” mean every style fits the same?

No. It describes the intended silhouette. Fabric, lining, seams and fastening can still change the feel of a garment. Check each style individually.

Can I use the model’s size to choose mine?

Use model information to help judge proportions and length, rather than as a substitute for your own measurements. Two people of the same height can have different proportions.

What if my measurements sit across several sizes?

Tell us the style name or product link, your bust, waist and hip measurements, and whether you prefer a close or relaxed fit. We can help you interpret the guide for that garment.
